These are some examples of the contents of some our most popular HR Courses but as with all of our services, we can design and deliver bespoke classes for your business.
Our HR courses help your employees to explore HR subjects created for them and develop the skills necessary to take a lead role in the organisation, helping them to deliver their own and the company goals.
Classes can be developed for your needs so employees can start making an impact in their workplace immediately.
DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES
Would you like a greater understanding of how to manage investigations and disciplinary hearings? The Disciplinary Training Course will give you the knowledge and confidence to recognise what is acceptable in the workplace, how to manage the process and what options are available.
After completion, you will understand:
- The importance of the investigation process, who should be included and the confidentiality involved.
- When to suspend an employee, the purpose and the payment.
- The disciplinary hearing and what can be done and said.
- The role of the companion in the process.
- Practical tips.
- The step by step process.
ATTENDANCE MANAGEMENT
Attendance management, is one of the hot topics for many businesses. They must monitor attendance at work for all employees. There is a duty to ensure your employees are safeguarded in health, safety and welfare, to control absence costs in the business and to meet employee expectations providing support for well-being.
Following an established process to support employees and protecting the employer is vital.
Staying in touch with employees on long term sick is so important, we aim to cover the do’s and don’ts, the when’s and how’s.
The increasing number of occasional days of absence can cause the business so many concerns. You will leave the class with an understanding of how to deal with the absences, what you should do and when you can do it.
Leave from work needs explaining, there are so many options to be used but are you sure you are recording it correctly and it is not being over abused?
TERMS & CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
In this session, we work through template clauses in a contract of employment, including sick payments, probationary periods, payment terms and holidays. We will discuss how to draft individual clauses that are robust and bespoke to your practice, whilst also identifying common pitfalls when managing employee’s contracts of employment.
Many businesses are now taking on apprentices, there is limited information coming from the training provider about what you need to have in place for an employer to employee relationship. The class will include information that you must include in the apprenticeship agreement, when it should be given and the controls you have in place for your new employee.
Training contracts are used when a business is giving a significant cost to train and invest into an employee. We will provide an overview of the use of these contracts in the workplace and how they need to be covered in your contract of employment to ensure they are legally compliant.
MISSION STATEMENTS, CULTURE & VALUES
We have realised these are very often written but don’t underpin the business needs or provide an understanding for the employees of what the business aims to achieve.
The purpose of the mission statement is to focus and direct the organisation itself; it communicates to the people who make up the Practice – its employees and patients, giving them a shared understanding of the Practices intended direction.
Within this session we will discuss:
- What is a mission statement?
- How it can be used within the business?
- What purpose it has?
- The values that can be developed and used on a daily basis.
- How you can encourage the practice employees and patients to use the values.
- How the values fit into the job description?
- Values and appraisals – they work together.
